Reno is second in command of an organization known as the Turks, who are essentially the FBI/CIA mixed with the Secret Service, functioning as an intelligence agency and direct reports to the President on the outside, and as black ops spies on the inside. They are privy to many company secrets and in addition to investigating and espionage, also engage in kidnapping, assassinations, and other unscrupulous acts for the company (they do the "dirty work," basically).

As a person, Reno is sarcastic and laid-back, with a charming, outgoing exterior at times, and a nasty hothead with a sadistic streak other times. Above all, he is consummately dedicated to the Turks and takes his job seriously. He's easy to befriend but difficult to get to know, as he does not talk much about himself often; rather, he prefers to get others talking about themselves instead. He loves to gossip, parties and high-energy activities, drinks and smokes to excess and has a propensity for sleeping around.

His features are sharp and he is very fox-faced, with full lips and pointy canines. Bright eyes, bright hair (long and always worn back in a ponytail. If not pulled back, it would be about lower back in length), shows a lot of chest. Shortish, rangy and quite thin, he has an unassuming stature but looks and acts as if he owns the room. Two red crescent marks under his eyes, possibly tattoos.

Wears a black suit most of the time, or simple slacks and t-shirts when in plainclothes. He also almost always has his goggles on his forehead (what are they for, nobody knows). Under his clothes, he is a map of scars and burns, also many freckles. Quick movements, slinky walk. Shifty eyes, cocky expression.

electro-mag rodReno uses a special baton outfitted with a taser that feeds the electricity through the weapon itself. He uses this in hand to hand combat and can shock and paralyze enemies with a hit. Its wattage is theoretically lethal. The electricity can be turned on and off with the push of a button. Equipping grants resistance to lightning attacks/electric damage. He has several special things he can do with it:

⚡ EM Shot (or Triple EM Shot): fires a fast-moving ball of electric energy that paralyzes/stuns on contact directly from the end of the EMR (triple is this x3).

⚡ Pyramid: traps a single target inside a gold pyramid that can be broken with enough physical or magical force. It is not airtight, but it is difficult to breathe inside, and can eventually cause unconsciousness for those average or below average lung capacity.

⚡ EM mine: these are technically little bomb-looking objects that he uses separately but look identical to the EM shot energy balls. They are electric and form a "web" of electricity connecting them together where they hover in midair, damaging and stunning any who touch them. They also will explode if hit with force.

⚡ EM Flail: whips one of the EM mines at a target, shocking them and binding them in place.

⚡ Bright Spark: slams those EM mines down on a target all at once for some big damage.

⚡ Electroburst: a leap into the air followed by a powerful blast of magic-based lightning (most likely from a slotted Lightning materia, but it could also just be the EMR itself).

⚡ Flashfoot: leaves electric streaks behind him as he darts around which do Lightning damage on contact.

⚡ He can also just beat the shit out of you with the baton (with abilities such as Beatdown, Rushdown Shock Swipe, Flashstrike, and Wild Swings, all of which are basically agile melee attacks/combos that sometimes include a shock at the end).
agility Reno is so fast that he can almost seem to disappear and reappear a short distance away (with an electric/sparkly sort of effect that follows behind him). He is naturally extremely agile, flexible, and quick. He can climb, run, jump, and bend more capably than most normal people, but he is not superhuman or enhanced. His fighting style is hand to hand and he's very well-trained in it, although he prefers a hit-and-run style of quick evasion and ranged attacks from his EMR than to duke it out one-on-one as he is not very physically strong.
Investigative Sector of General Affairs Effectively a federal investigator for over ten years, Reno has sharp deductive reasoning skills and powers of observation. He knows his way around a crime scene, how to follow a lead, and especially how to track someone down (particularly when they don't want to be found), and especially-especially how to extract information from them or kill them when he finds them. As a trained assassin, he is capable with weapons, poisons, and explosives. The Turks also specialize in crowd suppression—that is, they silence dissidents and help facilitate the spread of Shinra propaganda. (These days, though, they're really nothing more than glorified bodyguards and errand boys.) Nothing he can do in this regard is beyond the realm of things that a normal human being could do, but it bears mentioning. He's good at his job!!

Reno's canon point is post-Advent Children Complete, and I will mostly be utilizing the OG timeline for his sequence of events. However, given how well Remake spiced up some scenes and filled in some gaps for the Turks, I may also use some elements of that as well, excluding ones that change major events. For example, I'll be keeping his relationship with Aerith and discomfort with the plate job from Remake, but will not be keeping the fight or subsequent events with the Whispers in the church, or the change where Rude also participates directly in the plate job.
